This can be due to multiple causes, see below:
- Damaged Carriage Cable
- Dust/impurities accumulated at the Carriage FFC sensor (back of the Carriage)
- Loose connection (or wrong connection) of data cables onto the Mainboard
- Damaged or slanted Encoder Strip
- Encoder Strip has been dispositioned from the ''slit'' at the back of the Carriage - hence not being read by the Carriage FFC sensor.
- Depending on the printer model, the Torsion Spring at the left and/or right side may have been dislocated.
