For optimal foil adhesion, the MagicLine™ HTF system performs best in dry, controlled environments where ambient humidity is below 50% and garments are completely dry. Under these ideal conditions, foil should be peeled HOT for best results.
Because foil is naturally sensitive to moisture and humidity (a known characteristic of all heat transfer foil systems), minor adjustments may be needed when working in very high humidity environments.
Best practices for high-humidity conditions:
- Ensure the garment is fully dry
- Pre-press the garment to remove any moisture before printing or applying foil.
- Extend press time slightly
- When applying foil, press for approximately 10 seconds longer than standard settings.
- Use a cool peel method
- Allow the transfer to rest for 10–20 seconds after pressing.
- Lightly wipe or press with a clean cotton shirt or static-free cloth.
- Peel once the foil has cooled.
These simple adjustments help maintain consistent, high-quality foil adhesion, even in challenging humidity conditions.
