From a warranty standpoint, xTool recommends and expects the use of their OEM ink. Using third‑party ink does not automatically void the entire warranty; however, if a service issue is found to be ink‑related - such as printhead performance, clogging, or ink‑system problems-those repairs may not be covered. Since most DTF service issues stem from ink behavior, this is an important factor to keep in mind.
From a technical compatibility standpoint, most DTF inks on the market (including our MagicFlow ink) are formulated for Epson‑based piezo printheads. The xTool Apparel Printer uses the Epson i1600 printhead, which is a widely adopted and well‑supported platform across the industry.
We have extensive experience with this printhead in our own systems, such as the Vantage II MAX and MAXI series, which also utilize Epson i1600 technology. Our inks are engineered specifically for these printheads, with controlled particle size, viscosity, and flow characteristics to ensure stable, reliable performance.
