You may see one or both of the following warnings depending on your browser and system. These are common with many software downloads and do not mean the file is unsafe.
1) Browser Download Warning (Chrome / Edge)
You might see messages like:
- “This site isn’t using a secure connection…”
- or “Insecure download blocked”
Why this happens:
- The file is being downloaded over a non-secure (HTTP) connection instead of HTTPS
- Modern browsers may warn or completely block these downloads as a precaution
- This warning is about the connection, not the file itself
What to do:
Option 1 (Recommended): Use a secure link
- In your browser, manually add
https://before the download URL
This often resolves the issue immediately if the server supports secure connections.
Option 2 (If download is allowed but warned):
- Click “Keep” → “Keep anyway”
Option 3 (If you see “Insecure download blocked”):
- Open your browser’s Downloads page (Ctrl + J in Chrome)
- Locate the blocked file
- Click “Keep” or “Download anyway”
- If needed, click the ⋮ (three dots) next to the file and select “Keep”
2) Windows Security Warning (SmartScreen / Unknown Publisher)
When opening the installer, you may see:
- “Windows protected your PC”
- “Unknown publisher”
Why this happens:
- The software is not digitally code-signed or is newly released
- Windows cannot automatically verify the publisher yet
What to do:
- Click “More info” → “Run anyway”
Important:
- These warnings are standard security checks
- The ACRORIP installer provided by us is safe
