If a DTF, DTG, UV, or UVDTF printer has been sitting unused for a long time, the white ink, color ink, dampers, ink lines, capping station, cartridges, and printhead may have dried ink, pigment separation, or sediment buildup. You may not automatically need to replace every part, but you should expect to perform a full cleaning and recovery process before printing again. In many cases, the first goal is to determine whether ink can still flow properly through the system and whether the printhead can produce a clean nozzle check.
Start by inspecting the ink system and flushing or cleaning the printhead, dampers, cartridges, and ink lines as needed. If ink has dried inside the lines or dampers, cleaning may help restore flow, but severely blocked or contaminated components may still need to be replaced. For stubborn clogs, we recommend using both LAST CHANCE Cleaning Solution and MAGICCLEAN Cleaning Solution. A good approach is to flush first with LAST CHANCE to help break down severe blockage, then follow with MAGICCLEAN for additional cleaning and maintenance.

After cleaning, run the appropriate maintenance procedures for your printer and check the nozzle pattern. If cleaning improves the pattern but some nozzles are still missing, additional flushing, soaking, or maintenance may be needed. If there is little or no improvement after a proper recovery attempt, the printhead may be permanently clogged or damaged and may need replacement. Replacement printheads are available here:

If the ink lines, dampers, cartridges, capping station, or related ink delivery components are dried out, contaminated, leaking, swollen, cracked, or no longer flowing properly, those parts may also need replacement. This is especially common when printers have been stored with ink inside for an extended period, or when white ink has settled heavily in the system. Compatible DTF parts can be found here:

Because printers may vary depending on the original build, conversion style, ink type, ink system, cartridge setup, firmware, and supplier, we recommend contacting a live agent or submitting a support ticket if you are unsure which parts fit your specific printer. Providing photos of the printer, cartridges, dampers, ink lines, capping station, and printhead area can help support identify the correct parts and suggest the best recovery path.
