Yes, you can use the Epson® EcoTank ET-8550 with the MagicLine™ process. In fact, MagicLine™ can work with many desktop inkjet printers, provided the printer can properly print onto the required MagicLine™ Transfer Sheets.
The important difference is the type of ink installed in the printer. The ET-8550 uses a combination of pigment and dye-based inks in its standard configuration, so results—particularly wash durability—may differ from those produced with a fully pigment-based CMYK printer.
For the best color retention and wash durability, we recommend using a compatible printer with pigment-based cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks, followed by the required MagicSeal™ Fusion finishing step. MagicSeal™ Fusion helps lock in the printed colors and significantly improves the transfer’s resistance to washing while maintaining a soft, flexible finish.

The complete MagicLine™ workflow uses MagicLine™ Transfer Sheets, the appropriate MagicPowder™ and MagicSeal™ Fusion. For dark garments, White MagicPowder™ provides the opaque white backing without requiring white ink.
