There are two separate things to consider: the film affects feeding, while the ink affects color and washability. MagicLine offers solutions for both, but ink compatibility and film feeding depend on your setup.
Help with film feeding
Our upcoming MagicLine FeedAssist™ Sheets have an integrated paper leader designed to help printers grip and recognize the film, without manually taping film to copy paper. They are expected to be available ~ October 2026.
Using your existing sublimation ink
Many customers have reported that sublimation ink works with our system! We are less familiar with the many sublimation inks on the market, so we cannot confirm performance for every brand. Having sublimation ink in your printer does not necessarily prevent you from using the system, but results may vary.
Tested printers with regular OEM pigment ink
Our own testing has focused on the following Canon and Epson printers using their regular OEM pigment inks - no specialty ink required:

Longer-lasting prints and transfers onto dark garments
MagicSeal FUSION Spray works with both pigment and sublimation ink, increasing washability by up to 200% for longer-lasting shirts.
Our upcoming WHITE MagicPowder creates an opaque white backing that allows transfers onto dark garments. It is expected to be available ~ Oct 2026.
