DTF (Direct to Film) ink is used in a process where designs are printed onto a special film (DTF film) and then transferred to fabric using heat, allowing for vibrant and durable prints on various materials. DTG (Direct to Garment) ink, on the other hand, is directly applied to the fabric using specialized printers, offering high-quality prints primarily on cotton-based textiles. DTG and DTF inks are different, however DTG inks used in DTG printers can be used to perform DTF processes with some slight adjustments to time / pressure / temp settings on the powder curing and/or heat press side of things. If you are planning to utilize your DTG printer for DTF printing processes, you also want to pick films that are best suited for your DTG printer / DTG ink type. For example, we provide DTF solutions for some popular DTG printers here.
